Lassus: Missa super Dixit Joseph and motets released!

CD cover - Lassus

Our ninth recording for Hyperion Records has been released this month. This time we rove ever so slightly from the Austrian Habsburg court into the territory of Bavaria and the music of the great master Orlande de Lassus. Not without his connections to the royal Austrian household, Lassus spent the majority of his career serving as singer, composer and Kapellmeister to dukes Albrecht V and Wilhelm V in Munich. Our program concentrates on the luxurious "Missa super Dixit Joseph", a parody mass on the composer's own motet for six voices.

"Amorosi Pensieri: Songs for the Habsburg Court" released!

CD Cover - Amorosi Pensieri

We are thrilled to announce the release of our 8th disc with Hyperion Records. "Amorosi Pensieri: Songs for the Habsburg Court" contains a wonderful collection of madrigals, chansons, canzone and lieder by composers whose sacred works we have already championed on previous releases. As well as De Monte, Regnart and Vaet we uncover the little known Jean Guyot de Chatelet (Joannes Castileti) who served as Kapellmeister to Emperor Ferdinand I for approximately eight months before returning to his home of Liege.

Richafort Requiem CD released Monday, 30th July 2012!

CD Cover - Richafort Requiem

We are thrilled to announce the release of our seventh disc with Hyperion Records! This time we explore the world of Josquin Des Prez and his legacy, with a focus on the mesmeric and beautiful six voice "Requiem" mass by Jean Richafort (c1480 - after 1547) - recorded here for the first time with one male voice per part. This Missa pro defunctis is an extraordinary construction with the composer quoting both from Josquin's "Nymphes, nappés" and "Faulte d'argent" in an impressive homage to the revered master.
